Aims
- Trainees will become teachers who are confident in their teaching and capable of critically assessing their own performance as reflective practitioners in theoretical and practical.
- Trainees will have the knowledge and skills to become competent teachers in the 11-16 age range.
- Trainees will meet the standards set out in current and future documentation issued by the Secretary of State and the TDA.
- Trainees will develop the skills to secure pupil achievement.
- Trainees will be given clear targets to prepare them for induction year and their continuing professional development.
- Trainees will be provided with appropriate skills and methodologies to teach in Schools facing Challenging Circumstances (SfCC) and all other schools.
Objectives- To provide a professional teaching and learning environment where Trainees can develop their academic and pastoral skills and understand their legal responsibilities.
- To develop the Trainee’s subject knowledge and understanding of where the subject fits within the national framework.
- To provide a clear understanding of the assessment process in the classroom.
- To give confidence to work in Schools facing Challenging Circumstances by exploiting a range of transferable techniques and methodologies.
- To provide evaluation and feedback to Trainees, leading to ongoing reflective practice.
- To develop in Trainees an understanding of the benefits of collaborative activities across schools and to engage them fully in these.
- To provide opportunities for Trainees to participate in the home-school partnership.
